HISTORY

With their one way plane tickets, backpacks, and college degrees Juli and Nicole headed to the Hawaiian Islands in February 1997. The Wisconsin natives shared a passion for adventure, nature and helping others. Following months of hiking and camping throughout the beautiful islands it was time to put their hard work ethic and college degrees into action. Juli and Nicole immersed themselves into the island of Kaua’i community. They were first hired by the Arc in Hawaii to start the first community based program for adults with developmental disabilities, which focused on people with development disabilities living self-determined lives. They played huge advocacy roles for this population and spent years educating and battling the state of Hawaii to change the way they served and supported the lives of these special people.

They found great joy as volunteer Special Olympic coaches for 7 years and also mentored children with Autism. Juli served as a Violence Prevention Facilitator for a local non-profit agency and also as a Special Needs Consultant for nine pre-schools on the island through Kaua’i Head Start. She also spear headed Easter Seals Kaua’i project for individuals with developmental disabilities. Nicole ran the adult day health program for over 5 years and then served as a school social worker for the State of Hawaii, Department of Education for over 6 years, assisting children with special needs and their families, and continued to play a large advocacy role for adults with developmental disabilities. In 2001, with a small grant, these 2 passionate girls started Kaua’i Adventure Camp, which was an outdoor recreation camp for children with special needs and their siblings.

Juli and NikkiIn 2003 their dream of owning a business on Kaua’i became a reality. They integrated their love for adventure and outdoors with their nature to help inspire people’s lives. They started this company, Just Live! Inspired by the idea that people with disabilities just want a life like everyone else, the name Just Live! can apply to everyone of all abilities and really sums up Nikki and Juli’s passion for life. Just Live!

Just Live! acquired a perfect location in a beautiful Norfolk Pine forest. Just Live! started by providing challenge course, team building and adventure learning programs to youth, schools and community groups on Kaua’i. The Just Live! Challenge Course features low and high climbing activities designed to give teams and participants the opportunity to develop self-confidence, collaboration, and team empowerment. We are proud to say that thousands of Kaua’i youth, young adults, and local businesses have had the “Just Live! experience”.

Operating at a very low cost, and often for free, Just Live! was not generating the revenue off it’s community programs to continue on. In 2005 these 2 motivated and savvy girls brought Zipline Tour operations into Just Live! to serve Kaua’i visitors and locals, and to help bring in revenue to continue to be able to provide their valuable adventure learning programs at drastically reduced costs. Just Live! continues to provide amazing team building & adventure learning programs to youth, school and community groups on Kaua’i and throughout the country.

Just Live, Inc. has grown into a Ziplining Adventure Paradise. Offering the first Treetop ZipLine Tour in Hawaii, exciting zip line runs, canopy bridge crossings, climbing wall, rappelling tower, challenge course, monster swing and much more.

Today the forest is filled with laughter, screams of excitement and memories that last a lifetime. When you decide to do a Just Live! Zipline Tour you are not only making a great choice to have an awesome time, you are helping to support their youth, school and community programs.

Mahalo for your support! Hope to see you in the trees~
