If you’re going to be camping on Kauai in the coming weeks, you’ll want to be sure to set aside time for one of our Kauai zipline tours! We know those who camp love the great outdoors and are often the adventurous type. You may love fishing, the way food tastes when it’s cooked outdoors, swimming, or even snorkeling. Hiking is another favorite activity of campers, but be sure you’re ready, in terms of gear, food, any permits you’ll need, etc.
While it isn’t all that common in other states, local residents love to camp on Kauai. This means you’re likely to meet some locals for a truly unique experience that just can’t be matched when you vacation at a hotel or resort.
What will you need to bring along? It’s important to be well-prepared, as, depending on where you camp, there may not be a convenience store nearby. You’ll want to bring along tents, sleeping bags, day packs, beach towels, cooking supplies, food, lanterns, and maybe even a hammock or cabana, depending on where you’re camping. Be sure to learn all about the area where you’ll camp beforehand so you can get prepared! If you forget anything, our outdoor gear store probably has it – and you can rent whatever you need, so you don’t have to lug it home with you!
Some of the state camping areas include Polihale State Park, Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park, and Kōkeʻe State Park. Kōkeʻe State Park is great for those who enjoy hiking the trails, and some of the terrain is challenging. Great for trout fishing and native bird watching as well.
Haena Beach Park, Anini Beach Park, Salt Pond Beach Park and Black Pot (Hanalei Beach Park) are a few of the county parks most popular among vacationers. Depending on which you choose, you’ll enjoy kayaking and paddleboarding, swimming, snorkeling, or simply taking in panoramic views of the ocean. For some, camping is all about being near the water!
Whichever beach or state park you choose for your camping experience, take time out of your day to come visit our Kauai zipline tour facility. We have something for everyone, whether it’s your first time, or you’re the more adventurous type who loves nothing more than a great challenge! Soar with the birds among the treetops at Just Live!
