It all depends on the facility you choose, and how much focus is put on safety and risk prevention. Think about the things we take for granted and do every day that involve risk. Driving your car is risky, or even riding a bicycle or walking up/down stairs. If you’re into skateboarding or skiing (water or snow) there’s a risk involved. Some people even like to skydive, for goodness sake!
The fact is there have been accidents that have occurred at some commercial zip lines over the years. This is usually due to faulty equipment that isn’t properly maintained, poor guides that don’t give clear instructions, or the riders themselves who may not pay close attention to the rules or instructions. While the zipline industry has soared in recent years, some facilities are slow to catch up when it comes to operating under strict standards and regulations. This is not an industry where you can throw up some platforms and cables and call it done!
Our leaders and guides undergo extensive training and because we also offer other challenge courses such as rappelling and rock-wall climbing in addition to zip lining, we focus intensely on the safety and security of our customers. When it comes to equipment/gear used in the operation of our facility, inspections are performed daily. You can enjoy peace of mind knowing that you’ll have an awesome time, filled with laughter and screams of excitement!
