At JustLive!, our Kauai eco-based zipline tours are fun, exciting, exhilarating, and yes, a little scary for some – that’s what makes it such a blast! Whether you’ve ever ridden a zipline before or not, you may think they’re pretty much all the same. Not even close! Why?
Some companies offer ziplines, some offer canopy tours, and some offer both. In most cases, canopy tours are measured in terms of hours it takes to complete the tour, while ziplines are measured in terms of length (such as 1,200 feet, 3,000 feet, etc.). For the most part, canopy tours include platforms built among the trees and aerial or “canopy” bridges; taking riders through mountainous or wooded landscapes that are truly amazing and offer breathtaking scenic views.
Other differences between ziplines across the U.S., and around the world, is the height and the speeds they reach. Some are just 30 or 40 feet off the ground (or even lower), while others soar to heights of 75, 80, even 100 feet or more above the ground. Depending on whether a zipline is designed for beginners or for those who are more advanced, speeds may range from about 10 or 15 mph to 50 mph or faster. Much of it depends on whether the tour/ride is for beginners, or those who’ve ridden before and want something a little more challenging. Also, a rider can put him or herself in different positions (such as curling up in a ball) to increase their own speed!
Our Kauai zipline tours include the Wikiwiki Treetop Tour, where riders will enjoy launching from 85 feet up in the air for a total of three zip line runs. The Zipline Treetop Tour offers seven zip lines with canopy bridges stationed up to 80 feet and higher in the treetops; our longest tour, the Zipline Eco Adventure, is the most thrilling of all with three zipline runs, a 60′ rock climbing wall, monster swing, and a 50′ or 100′ rappel! Something for everyone, with professional guides who provide ecology narratives.
The fact is, all ziplines are not created equal! When you want to enjoy the thrill of your life, take in unparalleled scenery, and challenge yourself while having a blast, there’s only one place to do it – Just Live! zipline tours in Kauai!
