Of course you’ll want to book your accommodations prior to traveling to the island, and there are countless places to stay, regardless of your budget – from hotels and resorts to bed and breakfasts, condos, and even cabins, if you love a little seclusion.
You’ll probably want to rent a car so that you can tool around the island anytime you like, to take in all of the beauty, nature, culture, and activities. Another thing you’ll love about Kauai is that, just about anywhere you go by car, you’ll be driving along the coastline, as most roads are on the outer perimeter, other than a few that take you inland.
If you’re a seasoned hiker, you won’t want to miss the Koke’e State Park, where the elevation is about 4,000 ft. – spectacular views and great photo opportunities, even for those who don’t like to hoof it!
Magnificent waterfalls are abundant on Kauai, and of all the islands in Hawaii, this is the best one to take a helicopter tour of. From dining on local fare, shopping, entertainment, and surfing or snorkeling, to learning about local culture, to all kinds of activities for those who are active, it’s all here – and you’re going to love it.
