At Just Live we know it’s impossible to predict the weather, especially when you’re located on an island in the Pacific Ocean! If you have booked your Kauai zipline tour well in advance of your vacation, of course you hope for beautiful weather and sunny skies. But what if it rains on your parade? Will the adventure still go on?
While it rains less during the summer months in Hawaii than during the period between November and March, it’s not unusual for a rain shower to pop up at any time. Unless it’s lightning or the winds get high, the fun and excitement will go on! In fact, you might think it’s even more exciting when you’re ziplining through the treetops in the rain. If that isn’t really your idea of fun, don’t fret too much – the shower will likely be of short duration.
When you think about it, why is Kauai referred to as the ‘Garden Isle?’ Because of all the lush foliage and beautiful gardens – and this is a direct result of all the rain we get each year on the island. It just makes for a more beautiful setting for those who visit the island!
Okay, so now that you know it may or may not rain at the time of your zipline adventure, what should you do different if a shower does pop up? It’s always a good idea to be prepared for rain or shine, so consider what to wear so you don’t get soaked. Bring along a rain poncho and consider some old shoes that are close-toed, footwear you don’t mind getting in the mud and that will keep your feet dry.
Aside from being prepared with the right clothing, also be extremely careful if it begins to rain during your tour or is raining prior to your tour, as platforms and other surfaces can become slippery.
The good news is that because our Kauai zipline courses are based in the treetops, you will be at least partially shielded from the rain! But honestly, what’s more fun than zipping from one aerial platform to another with rain drops falling on your head? We think you shouldn’t be too worried about rain, it’s all part of the experience of being in a tropical paradise far away from the stress of everyday life. Enjoy!
