Of course you’ll want to take one of our zipline tours if you’re vacationing in Kauai, but you might be surprised at some of the other things there are to experience. Yes, there are gorgeous beaches, mouth-watering food, endless activities and some of the “cushiest” resorts you could imagine, but what else? Maybe you’ve been having visions of enjoying a mai tai on the beach. We’re sharing a few things you might not expect on the Garden Isle!
How about a little mountain tubing? If you’re the active type who loves a challenge, head out to Kauai Backcountry where you’ll float through tight tunnels dating make nearly 150 years and experience dark caves, canals and even a natural sinkhole where you can enjoy a lazy, relaxing swim.
How does a little poke sound? From kimchee and wasabi to avocado and spicy mayo, you’ll have to visit Koloa Fish Market at least once while you’re here! Lots of delicious options including salmon lomi lomi, traditional kalua pork and chicken long rice. Yum.
Even if you’re not really a hiker, you’ll want to enjoy a leisurely Ho’opi’i Falls hike. It isn’t really about the hike if you’re a nature lover and enjoy nothing more than experiencing the landscape. Along the way you’ll come across waterfalls, a swim hole, even a rope swing and rock diving. Can you imagine climbing beneath roots? You won’t have to imagine it if you partake in this fun hike. Challenging at some points, but nothing too difficult – and the end offers great rewards. Put it on your list!
It’s always a good idea to research all of the things there are to experience on Kauai before you head out so you don’t waste precious time once you get here figuring out what you want to do! At some point along the way, leave a morning or afternoon open so you can take one of our Kauai zipline tours. We think it will be one of the highlights of your vacation.
