Perhaps you’re looking forward to a Kauai zipline tour, surfing, snorkeling, touring all of the shops and experiencing cuisine you’ve never had before, exploring the landscape, hiking, lounging on the beach, or all of the above. While there’s no shortage of things to do on Kauai, if you’re planning to stay in the Lihue area, you may be wondering about where exactly to stay. We’ve got plenty of suggestions below!
Depending on your budget, you may want to consider camping. State and county parks offers lots of great camping grounds, and you may be someone who prefers being in the great outdoors rather than behind the walls of a hotel, resort, or condo. Many people enjoy nature, and prefer to camp. If you do, not to worry, as there are plenty of places to camp out including the HulÄ“’ia National Wildlife Refuge, Niumalu Beach Park, or Lydgate State Park, to name a few.
The Kauai Inn is another option – a resort with various amenities such as internet access, cable television, a microwave, a small fridge, etc. There are other optional amenities, depending on your budget, such as air conditioning.
Another great hotel for the budget-minded is the Kauai Palms Hotel, where you can enjoy clean, comfortable surroundings along with laundry facilities and nearby shopping/dining starting at about $75 per night. If you want to, and can afford to spend more, you may prefer a room with a kitchen and air conditioning, or other upgrades.
If money is no object and you’re all for luxurious accommodations, the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort or Kauai Marriot Resort and Beach Club are popular choices. The Hilton is where you’ll find rooms with their own lanais, indoor pools, nightly entertainment and great dining options within the resort. The Marriott offers fabulous views of the ocean, garden, or pool depending on your preference and what’s available, several restaurants, programs for the little ones, and more, in a tropical garden setting.
If you were dreaming of vacationing in a beautiful condo with all of the comforts of home including equipped kitchens, separate living and sleeping areas, air conditioning, cable television, wireless internet and even snorkeling gear, beach towels, or other things you’ll need on the beach, you may want to consider the Garden Island Inn or the Banyan Harbor Resort.
These are just a few examples of where to stay if you’re vacationing in Lihue, Kauai. Of course, where you stay isn’t really as much of a concern as what you’ll do, since it’s all about fun, adventure, and exploring a new culture! Enjoying the great outdoors in wonderful weather and tropical surroundings is what vacationing in Hawaii is all about. No matter where you stay, be sure to book one of our Kauai zipline tours!
